New Year, New Paint

This Christmas Break has been FILLLLLED with painting of all kinds. It started with this:

The previous owners had dogs - BIG dogs. They tore up just about anything they could. Including scratching this outside door. It was scratched and then it rusted. When I found the can of paint in the garage that matches the exterior, I was THRILLED. So I started by sanding it with my handy dandy sanding block. Then used this roller...
I painted a couple of coats, let it dry, and in about ten minutes, I had this...

Since this door also has the storm door with the doggy door so it stays open all the time for the dogs. Which made it even more of an eye sore. So here's the before and after once again.

We have also been working on the living room - FINALLY. It started out as a BORRRRRRING beige. Forever ago, my mom came and helped me pick out a paint color, and then the paint cans sat in the garage. And sat. And sat. Until school got out on December 17th. I made quite a bit of progress, but I soon realized that those 13 foot ceilings were going to pose quite a problem. So my husband came home with this:

So that I could get to this...
Here's a sneak peek:

The living room has been a hot mess for the most of the break, but we are making do!
Charlie working hard!

Bentley had a little run in with the paint which included a black dog with a "Sprig of Ivy" tail

Huey isn't so sure about all the craziness around here

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!!

Happy New Year!
