My Mom

Many of you know that my mom, Allison Christy, was diagnosed with cancer in July. Our family would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your kind thoughts and prayers. Your support has meant so much to us during this trying time. The news was devastating in a way that I have never experienced before. But the news also brought about a challenge; for my mom, for her family, for her friends. We will stand up and fight now, or we will be defeated. My mom has been so strong through the beginning stages, and it is our job to keep her strong for the rest of the battle and journey that have yet to come.

While the shock, pain, anger, sadness, and fear wane in and out, the one feeling that remains in my mom’s life is stress. As a family, we have been focused on finding a way for everyone to help make her life easier. If you were to ask my mom what one thing she would love to have done at the house that they just don’t have the time for right now, she would tell you about how much she wants a pool deck. She wants a place to rest, read a book, enjoy family, cook out, and did I mention read? At this time, the pool deck has been put on the back burner. Our family is in agreement that one of the best things for her right now, would be to have a pool deck. We would like to make this possible in the easiest way which means hiring someone to do it  We have opened an account at BancFirst that will accept donations for this project – as a way to offer her some peace and relaxation. At this time the account is in my name (Mattie O’Donnell) with her name as a subtitle. Checks can be made out to me, my grandfather (Glenn Norris), or cash. In the subject of the check, I would encourage you to put “Donation for Allison Christy”. If you would feel more comfortable giving the money to a family member or close friend, they will make sure it gets to the right place.

If you send a donation, please include your name and address as well as an e-mail address so that we can update you on the progress of our mission.

This has been set up for people who wish to help, but just don’t know how. Do not feel obligated in any way to contribute. Thank you in advance for your help in making her dream to come true. My mom is so blessed to have each of you in her life.
