My mom, she's so awesome, came to Midwest City today to help me with the bathroom. We picked out paint colors (for the living room and the bathroom), painted the first coat of KILZ, and bought some door stoppers. The people who lived here before us had pitbulls who must have had an obsession with eating door stoppers - all of them - eaten. They didn't stop with the door stoppers though, they scratched every door, window, and base board in the whole house. So I guess I should call all of my projects Pit Bull Clean Up #1 thru #982747828. Anyway - in the process we found that they must have hung their children from the towel rod because they installed it with some outrageously large bracket that would have outlasted World War III and Hurricane Earl. We had no choice but to tear them out - leaving stupid holes in the wall. But my mom, she's so awesome, knew this was inevitable and made sure we bought Drywall Spackling at Lowe's. Here are some pics of our handy work :)

One of the towel rod holes - after one coat of spackling...
|
One coat of Kilz - covering the purple/red/wine/barf nicely, but it will need another coat. We need a ladder to get the ceiling part.

My mom did this without tape. She's so awesome :)

Look at that shiny, fancy doorstop. We bought eight for the house - I got four installed today.
We picked out paint colors - "Lettuce" for the bathroom (hehe) and "Sprig of Ivy" for the living room. Can't wait to get this bathroom put back together so I can start on the living room project. Thank you so much mom for all of your help today - you are so awesome!! :)

You're so funny - and you're very welcome - I really didn't do that much. Sure wish I could have done more. Next time I'll bring my little brush and we'll get it whipped out!!!
You know that home-ownership - always a project needing to be done!!
