Odds and Ends

Quite possibly my favorite part of owning rather than renting is hanging ANYTHING and EVERYTHING on the walls! In our apartment, we could only have five nail holes per room for free, and then we had to pay for every nail hole after that. RIDICULOUS! So I love that I finally got to hang up our chalkboard message center. I put it in the kitchen by the bar because that's where the majority of the mail goes, the shopping list is kept, and the crap generally piles up. I love that I can keep it on the wall and still have room on the bar!

I keep the mail, notepads, camera, pens/pencils, coupons, EVERYTHING in this bad boy!

I couldn't find the chalk when I hung it, but when I do, you can bet it will have notes all over it! It even has two little hooks at the bottom, just in case I suppose :)

I know it's a little early, but I found this adorable turkey at Marshall's, and had to have him! I love how his scrawny little legs hang off the mantel! Monday is the first of November, so he's only out of place for a few more days!

Our living room has pretty much all the furniture it needs or can handle, but there's an awkward little space next to the couch that  NEEEEEEEDS a sofa table, or a tall end table, or SOMETHING. Do you think a tall skinny table would look weird in this spot? What would go well here? I need something to put a lamp on, and I'm tired of looking at this blank hole.
